My name is Chelsea Stiffler. I am who I am, and no one can stop me! I am 11 years old and have been practicing Jiu Jitsu for 3 years since August 2021. I was born in Hawaii and moved around a bit since my dad is a U.S. Navy Deep Sea Diver. I first started Jiu Jitsu while I was living in Guam and after my first practice, I loved it! While there, I competed in a couple of tournaments, The Marianas Open, Patgon kids, Copa De Marianas and then another Patgon tournament. I didn’t start out so hot but after each competition, I learned lessons and kept improving and finally won gold in GI and No-Gi in my final tournament there. With the last win, my professor advanced me to yellow belt.
I moved to Texas in 2023 and currently live just outside of San Antonio. I currently train with Brazilian Top Team and so far, I have traveled, competed and won gold in tournaments in Waco, Austin and San Antonio. I also placed second as total fundraiser and first overall fundraiser in the youth category for Tap Out Cancer San Antonio. I try to compete in one tournament a month and sometimes two when there are matches. I practice 5 to 6 times a week at different Brazilian Top Team gyms in kids and teen classes throughout San Antonio and sometimes workout in the home gym on my own or with my dad in the mornings. He calls me Super Beast! My goal is to become a black belt and to teach Jiu Jitsu when I grow up.

My parents say I’m spirited, passionate, smart, friendly, kind, funny, persistent and a true leader. I am the highest-ranking belt in my kids’ class, and I love to lead and to help the younger ones practice and get better. I love to play outside with my friends, swim in the ocean and I like playing Minecraft. I won student of the month last year and had straight A’s. I was in the robotics club, Harry Potter club, math club and was in the National Elementary Honor Society in Guam. My parents say grades come first but I like school, so that makes it easy for me to do well and to practice Jiu Jitsu as much as I can. I would like to be sponsored because it would be cool and help me to have more experience competing and travel to more tournaments.
